The therapy must
(1) enhance and maintain the client’s motivation to change;
(2) improve the client’s capabilities;
(3) ensure that the client is assisted in generalizing his or her new capabilities to all relevant environments.;
(4) enhance the therapist’s motivation to treat clients and to enhance the therapist’s capabilities; and
(5) structure the clinical environment for therapy. It is noteworthy that therapists capabilities are enhance and burnout prevent by using weekly consultation team meetings. The consultation team assists the therapist in maintaining his or her balance in working with clients.
