How do children of divorce and separation fare in the classroom?
What will be an ideal response?
In general, children who experience their parents' separation or divorce have more difficulties in the classroom and performing academically than children who have not had similar experiences (Carlson, 1995). In fact, children from established households headed by one parent, or children who live in an established stepfamily, perform better academically than those children who have recently experienced their parents' divorce.
