Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of asexual and sexual reproduction

What will be an ideal response?

Sexual reproduction requires the expenditure of energy and materials to produce gametes. There is also
the energy required to find mates. The search for mates can also increase danger, such as predation.
The obvious advantage of sexual reproduction is genetic diversity. Asexual reproduction can be
advantageous in stable uniform environments. Asexual reproduction preserves genes that are
successful in a stable uniform environment. Finally, in environments where finding a mate is difficult,
asexual reproduction can be an advantage.
