Compare the different types of ADR and why ADR plays an important role in the legal system
What will be an ideal response?
ADR has become important in the legal system because it helps with caseloads, reducing time and money involved with litigation. There are many types of ADR: arbitration, the most popular, where parties choose an impartial third party to hear and decide the dispute; mediation, where a neutral party assists in reaching a settlement; and mini-trials, conciliation, and using a judicial referee are all other types of ADR. ADR does not resolve all disputes, but it has assisted in reducing court caseloads—thus it is not "going away."
