What are analogies? What is the value of using them in your speech?

What will be an ideal response?

An analogy is a comparison of two things, one of which is something already known
the listener and the other is something that is new. In informative speeches, analogies
are a good way to relate new information to the audience, by comparing it to something
already familiar.
