What is the cause of coastal breezes?
What will be an ideal response?
Differences in the ability of water and land to absorb and release heat give rise to coastal breezes. In the daytime, land warms faster than water. As air over land warms and rises, cooler offshore air moves in to replace it, causing a breeze to blow onto shore. After sundown, land cools more quickly than the water, so the breezes reverse direction.
