The following products have inherent dangers while being used. Identify the danger and develop ideas to overcome or limit it:

a. electric toaster
b. electric hedge trimmer
c. chain saw
d. incandescent light bulb

For electric toasters, hot surfaces are a problem. Include material that changes color a high temperatures to alert users to the potential for burning. Electric hedge trimmers have an interlock, so the trimmer must
be purposefully turned on so it runs continuously. The concern is that if the operator lets go of the trimmer, it will stop running. A chain saw is dangerous and again features exist to stop it should the cutting bar start to seize or to seize and jerk back. Any operator release should cause the machine to
stop functioning. An incandescent bulb gets hot. Having a small thermal indicator showing that it is hot, particularly when it is no longer turned on, would be useful.
