You have been asked to feed a resident who has had a stroke. Which precautions would you take?

What will be an ideal response?

Cut the resident’s food into small pieces. Feed the resident slowly. Offer fluids carefully, between solid foods. Place the food in the unaffected side of the resident’s mouth. Keep the resident in an upright position for at least 30 minutes after eating. Provide oral care to remove food that has remained in the resident’s mouth.
