Self-image is a descriptive term while self-esteem is evaluative. Self-image
refers to the characteristics we believe we possess and self-esteem depends upon what
we perceive to be worthwhile and/or valuable. In other words, self-esteem goes beyond
our self-image to include the value or importance we place on our perceived
characteristics.
