•Interaction 1: Schistosoma is a parasitic trematode worm. The adults live in the blood vessels of mammals and birds. It infects ~20 million humans, causing diarrhea and malaise.
•Interaction 2: Many flowering plants are pollinated by insects. The insect transfers pollen as it visits plants to feed on nectar or pollen.
•Interaction 3: Aphids are insects which feed on phloem sap of plants. They require bacteria in the genus Buchnera, which are contained within special aphid cells in the body cavity. If the bacteria are eliminated by antibiotics, the aphids fail to grow and die without producing offspring.
