Define acclimatization and give an example

What will be an ideal response?

The term acclimatization refers to the gradual adaptations the body makes to maintain long-term homeostasis in response to a prolonged physical change in the surrounding environment, such as a change in temperature. When a person exercises in the heat without gradually adapting to the hotter environment, the body faces a terrible dilemma. To maintain body temperature in the face of this extra heat, blood flow to the skin is increased so that heat from the warmed blood can be lost through the skin to the surrounding environment. If the environmental temperature is hotter than the body temperature, heat cannot be lost from the blood.
