How does advertising contribute to the success or failure of various media outlets?
What will be an ideal response?
Today’s media receives the bulk of its revenue from advertising, not circulation. Advertisers naturally want to spend their money with those media outlets that promise the most exposure or bang for their buck. Competition is fierce and only those outlets with the widest audiences are attractive to advertisers. Thus, if an outlet’s audience is too small, it can struggle to attract advertisers and ultimately may fail.
