Ans: Mixed research has many strengths. Mixed research adds pictures and narrative to data collected through quantitative methods. Mixed research also addresses the lack of generalizability of qualitative designs. Mixed research allows the researcher to investigate one or few studies in more depth. Mixed research also has some weaknesses. Mixed research is more complex and expensive; requires more resources; and may require multiple investigators to successfully implement the quantitative and qualitative studies. In addition the field of mixed methods is still developing and some researchers are undecided about the utility of some of the mixed methodologies.
