Explain the reasons why Korea was an attractive country to adopt from.
What will be an ideal response?
Parents met the eligibility requirements and were considered desirable parents. Adopting a healthy infant was possible in a short period of time, it was generally convenient (e.g., parents were not required to travel to Korea), and parents felt that when adopting from Korea they were working with a well-established program. The racial status of a child from Korea was seen as a “nice thing.”
