Identify and describe the sets of problems that face the U.S. economy today. Are any of these problems exacerbated by the U.S. “close but contradictory” relationship with China?

What will be an ideal response?

Answers should identify the three challenges to the U.S. economy as globalization, debts and deficits, and income inequality. Answers should also identify the challenge of globalization encourages MNCs to move their operations overseas and how China (and others) benefit from U.S. technology while violating U.S. intellectual property rights. Answers should identify U.S. debts and deficits as being exacerbated by its relationship with China as well because American spenders prefer low-cost goods regardless of where they are manufactured.
