Why is smoking cigarettes so dangerous to human health?

What will be an ideal response?

Cigarette smoke, which is inhaled deeply into the lungs, contains numerous carcinogens. Lung tissue is very delicate by design so gases can readily exchange across it. Carcinogens from cigarette smoke can readily cause mutations in the DNA of this delicate lung tissue. Smoking also leads to emphysema and heart disease.
