Education by staff. Medicare is a government policy for patients who are age 65 and older or disabled. Patients will be given Medicare A for hospital coverage, and they have to purchase Medicare B for outpatient coverage. Other policies can be purchased and used as a supplement or replacement to Medicare, and patients must be educated as to their Medicare options.
Medicaid and SCHIP are for low income families and children. Income requirements can change often and eligibility for these patients must be checked with each visit to ensure the patient is covered.
