Discuss DNS forwarding.

In situations where there are multiple sites or when there is Internet connectivity, it is common to designate one DNS server to forward name resolution requests to a specific remote DNS server. One example of how forwarding works is a set of state community colleges that operate under a community college commission. Each college maintains DNS servers for resolution of addresses within its own namespace. Each college also has designated one on-site DNS server to automatically forward name resolution requests involving another college or the commission. For a name resolution request that involves finding a server at the community college commission, the DNS forwarder server on the college network forwards the resolution request to a DNS server on the commission's network.
