Describe phase 1 of the strengths-based therapy model.

What will be an ideal response?

The strengths-based therapist gives the client a copy of the Client Bill of Rights to establish clearly that the client is respected as a human being, regardless of his or her presenting issues. The therapist asks the client to read over the Client Bill of Rights. If the client has known difficulty reading, then the therapist summarizes the content of this document. The therapist elicits the client’s presenting problem and strengths story.
