Some of the more prominent of these current reform efforts include: 1) the establishment of standards, which will influence your life as a teacher because you will be held responsible for students meeting the standards; 2) test-based accountability, because, again, you will be held accountable for students reaching the standards; 3) school choice, which will mean traditional public schools may lose students to charter schools and private schools as a result of vouchers. And, you may have the opportunity to teach in a charter school.
