What are two problems that arise from funding of education through local property taxes?

What will be an ideal response?

Property taxes typically do not get assessed often enough to keep pace with inflation. In an inflationary period, assessments may not reflect real property values and they will certainly not reflect the actual costs of goods and services, unless reevaluation is done frequently. Therefore, many school boards do not have adequate funding for educational needs. Second, the tax base available to some school districts is markedly different than that available to others. To get an equivalent education, parents in poorer districts would have to tax themselves at higher rates than parents in more affluent areas.
