How does an employee assistance program function?
What will be an ideal response?
An employee assistance program (EAP) helps officers to cope with substance abuse, psychological, or family problems. Counseling for officers to gain the ability to overcome such problems can be contracted by the governmental unit with an outside psychological services agency; or, if out-of-pocket expenses are to be paid at some point by the officer, often a sliding scale fee basis can be arranged based on the officer's income.
