Describe the relationship between curriculum and instruction, and provide an example to illustrate your description
What will be an ideal response?
Curriculum can be described as everything that teachers teach and students learn in schools, and instruction is the strategies teachers use to help students reach the teacher's learning goals. For example, in the chapter Suzanne wanted her second graders to understand that graphs help us represent information; her learning goal was the result of a curriculum decision. To reach the goal, she had her students sample a variety of jellybeans, pick their favorite flavors, represent their preferences on a large graph, and analyze the information mathematically; the strategy she used to help her students reach the goal reflected a decision about instruction.
