Cite at least three ways in which transcription differs from DNA replication
What will be an ideal response?
(1 ) In replication, both strands of the double-stranded DNA are copied, resulting in new double-stranded DNA molecules. In transcription, only one strand of the double-stranded DNA is transcribed into a single-stranded RNA molecule. (2 ) In eukaryotes, while DNA replication typically occurs during only part of the cell cycle, transcription generally occurs throughout the cycle. (3 ) No primer is needed in transcription because the RNA polymerase can initiate new polynucleotide chains, unlike DNA polymerase, which needs a primer to begin replication.

Whales are believed to be products of divergent evolution sharing a common terrestrial ancestor with the modern hippopotamus. One piece of evidence that supports this theory that they were previously terrestrial is the presence of small bones in the tale of the whale believed to be leftovers from a time when whales had hips and lower limbs. What would we call these hips?
