How was religion demonstrated among the earliest peoples? Use specific examples to show how archeology has revealed this. How does this compare with later emerging religions for which we have written records?

What will be an ideal response?

Early religions are demonstrated through cave paintings and statues showing fertility rituals, hunting rituals appearing to depict a request for intervention from supernatural forces, as well as burial evidence including placement of bodies, preparation of the deceased, and artifacts found in graves. Much of this is conjecture drawn from archeology and anthropologic studies, however. Later emerging religions for which there are written records inform the historian as to the intent of actions and is not as obscured in meaning.
