Political participation refers to the many different ways that people take part in politics and government.?Participation can take the form of traditional means, such as voting, joining a political party, donating to a candidate, keeping informed about government, signing a petition, protesting a policy, and advocating a new law. Many experts argue that participation should also include volunteer work, such as helping out in a homeless shelter or attending meetings of governmental boards.
