Professional development (PD) is an opportunity that leads to an increase or change in skills, knowledge, abilities, and understandings. PD experiences include individual study, action research, in-service workshops, online graduate courses, internships, temporary residencies in organizations, curriculum writing, peer collaboration, school or district study groups, peer coaching or mentoring, or work with a mentor or master.
