Describe the changes in the skin that occur with aging. Although skin cancers can occur at any age, why might skin cancers have a higher incidence in the elderly?

Refer to section 6.5 in the text book. Among other effects of aging, skin becomes thinner and regeneration slows. Increased cancer risk might in part relate to greater duration of sun exposure and also decreased numbers of epidermal dendritic cells.
