What problems and benefits do undocumented immigrants pose for local communities?
What will be an ideal response?
Regarding problems, answers should address the fact that undocumented immigrants are disproportionally distributed throughout the general population. Often times these immigrants are poor and unskilled and their children may lack education. Many may also work off the books and not pay taxes. Moreover, they are typically not counted in the census due to their lack of desire to step forward and be counted yet they also are some of the largest consumers of social services and community resources, the funding for which is based largely on census returns. Conversely, they contribute to the economy through their labor and the taxes some do pay.
