Define, and provide two examples of, police misconduct.

What will be an ideal response?

Answer may vary. Police misconduct is inappropriate or illegal behaviors of police officers. It includes actions of officers both on- and off-duty. The motivation for police misconduct varies, it may be personal, or financial, but it may also be for other reasons. The range of activities covered under police misconduct is wide and can cover everything from not so serious breaches of departmental policy to very serious violations of law. For example, if an officer calls out sick, and really isn’t, it would be a violation of departmental policy, and thus, misconduct. Another example, of serious breach of law, would be an officer stealing drugs from an evidence locker and selling them.
