Describe briefly the nature of sexual prejudice and homophobia.

What will be an ideal response?

Sexual prejudice is the irrational hatred directed toward people because of their sexual orientation or sexual behavior.
Homophobia is the irrational fear of or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals.
One specific type of sexual prejudice is homophobia, the specific fear and hate projected toward homosexuality in general and LGBTQ people in particular. Researchers have found that homophobia is a lot more common than previously known.
Carried to its extreme, homophobia may lead to aggression or even violence directed to LGBTQ people, such as cases of people who assaulted or murdered homosexuals. Tragically, homophobia creates unfounded suspicions or stereotypes, as people who have been assaulted were actually straight.
