Why is it difficult to enforce any professional organization's ethical guidelines?
What will be an ideal response?
Enforcing any professional organization's ethical guidelines is difficult. The principles can be enforced only against members of the organization, and if the expert chooses to withdraw from the organization, there's no effective mechanism to enforce the guidelines. For computer forensics examiners testifying as experts, this means that an organization has limited influence over examiners as witnesses in the form of peer pressure and reputation among peers. In addition, without a specific organization to oversee and comment on current expert testimony standards or transgressions, it's difficult to identify and investigate violations or to apprise an organization's members of acceptable methodologies and standards.
