What do reliability and validity mean in a research study? Is it possible to have a valid study without reliability? Or a reliable study without validity?

What will be an ideal response?

Varies. Reliability refers to the extent to which research results are consistent. Validity refers to whether the research results accurately reflect the phenomena being studied. Research that reflects the phenomena, but cannot be replicated does not accurately reflect the phenomena each time. Research can be reliable if it can be replicated, but that does not mean it is valid. Research can be reliable when it is not valid, but cannot be valid when it is not reliable.
