Statistically twhe rhythm method has a failure rate of 25%. That is, pregnancy results in 25 out of 100 instances. At minimum, the couple could combine the rhythm method with using condoms. Alternatively, vaginal barriers and intrauterine devices also do not rely on hormones and have a comparatively low failure rate of 5-6%.
