Compare and contrast a fixed caliper vs. a sliding caliper system.
What will be an ideal response?
A fixed caliper has dual pistons on both inside and outside of the rotor and when actuated they both move toward the rotor, squeezing it from both sides. On a sliding caliper it slides in and out as the brakes are applied. As pressure is applied to the inside of the rotor, it pulls the outside/opposite side of the caliper toward it and squeezes the rotor between them.
