Differentiate between “ascribed” and “achieved” credibility

Ascribed credibility is that status given from client to helper by that is often due to gender, age, experience, and life experiences and attitudes. Achieved credibility is when the client sees the helper has the ability to help because the helper has actually demonstrated these skills.
