Shyness, stage fright, speech anxiety, and dating anxiety are all terms that refer to the same or similar concepts, although there are other terms as well. Shyness and social anxiety are often used interchangeably although some use shyness as a term that refers to a milder form of social anxiety. The term social anxiety is more general whereas terms such as stage fright, speech anxiety and dating anxiety are more specific types of social anxiety. Stage fright and speech anxiety are similar, if not identical concepts.
Emilio could be described as having stage fright or speech anxiety, specific forms of social anxiety because he does not appear to be socially anxious if he is talking to someone one-on-one.
