Provide a brief description of ‘political identity.'
What will be an ideal response?
Political identity refers to the ways in which individuals categorize themselves and others, and how they understand the power relationships of domination and oppression that exist between groups. Identity involves both our own perceptions of how we fit in, and others' perceptions of how we fit in. Its importance lies not simply with recognizing that you fit into this or that group, but in recognizing the political significance of your membership in or exclusion from certain social groups.
