Validity refers to the extent to which the score reflects mastery of content; tests with low validity do not measure the appropriate knowledge/skills. Reliability concerns consistency in measurement; unreliable tests may yield different scores at different times. Fairness is about providing equal opportunities for all students to demonstrate their knowledge; unfair tests may be biased against students with disabilities or poor English proficiency. Practicality concerns the time taken to prepare, administer and score tests; impractical tests may consume a lot of teacher/student time.
