Define engineering sense. If someone asks you to demonstrate a speed of 10 cm/sec, how would you do so using your engineering sense?

What will be an ideal response?

Engineering sense is an engineer’s ability to picture in his or her head the concepts and a solution based on previous experience or gut feel.
In order to demonstrate a speed of 10 cm/sec, an engineer would use her sense to imagine what a distance of 10 cm looks like, and then to imagine the time span of one second. By putting the two together, she can sense the approximate speed. Engineers gain this “sense” through repeated experience with such concepts.
