What troubleshooting steps should you take if a shared printer is printing out control codes on output pages?

What will be an ideal response?

Sometimes this is caused by the formatting of a previous printout; all you need to do is turn the printer off, wait for 30 seconds, and turn it back on. This action resets the printer. If only one client workstation experiences the problem, reinstall the printer driver on that workstation. Also, make sure the software generating the printout is installed correctly. If all workstations are experiencing the problem, reinstall the printer and printer driver at the computer or print server offering the printer share (such as by using the Printer Management tool on the server). Make sure the share is set up for all operating systems that access it, that the correct print monitor is installed, and that the appropriate data type is used.
