Connect families with curriculum by:
Posting weekly plans by the school entrance or parent area, sending a copy of weekly plans home, include plans in the newsletter, or post online, or send an email of weekly plans. Parents can share an expertise or artifact as part of an integrated study. Sometimes parents can be guest speakers or, you can visit their home or work place when it is connected to the topic. Parents can be invited in to conduct an activity or share a story. Documentation of what children have been doing through classroom documentation panels can be useful. Invite families to give input and share ideas for topics of study, share expertise, find resources, loan and donate materials, com on trips, make games, or props, participate in family workdays.
