Explain how HATs and HDACs can lead to the formation of cancer

What will be an ideal response?

HATs usually lead to gene expression, and HDACs usually lead to gene repression. In cancer cells if HATs are mutated, then genes that are normally expressed to prevent cancer are now repressed, which can lead to cancer. In addition, in cancer cells if HDACs are mutated, then genes that are normally inactive to suppress cancer will now be expressed leading to cancer.
