Describe the crime classifications and explain the Uniform Crime Report

What will be an ideal response?

Crimes are divided into felonies and misdemeanors. A felony is a serious crime such as rape, homicide, or aggravated assault, for which punishment typically ranges from more than a year's imprisonment to death. A misdemeanor is a minor crime that is typically punished by less than one year in jail.

The Uniform Crime Report (UCR) is the major source of information on crimes reported in the United States. The UCR has been compiled since 1930 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
