Briefly describe the social and emotional characteristics of students with ADHD.

What will be an ideal response?

Self-esteem refers to a person's overall regard for himself or herself as a person. Some researchers have found that students with ADHD have much lower self-esteem than typical peers of the same age. Others have found few differences. In contrast to the somewhat contradictory data about self-esteem, information about the social functioning of students with attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder is clear. Students with ADHD often experience challenges in coping with social demands at school, at home, and in other settings.
