In general, how are prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells different and how are they similar?
What will be an ideal response?
In prokaryotic cells the genetic material is found in a central region called the nucleoid while in
eukaryotic cells it is contained in the membrane-bound nucleus. Also, eukaryotic cells contain
membrane systems that form organelles while prokaryotic cells do not. A plasma membrane surrounds
both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. The eukaryotic organelles mitochondria and chloroplasts both
contain DNA, RNA, and ribosomes that resemble those found in bacteria.
