What are problems with psychological or psychoanalytic theories of crime and their policy implications?


Some problems include: research proves that the majority of criminals are not psychologically disturbed, the psychological disturbance is not responsible for the crime, the psychoanalytic theory does not include the environmental circumstances in which the criminal behavior occurs(a personal problem not a social one), lastly psychoanalysis therapy resides on faith. These are a few problems with psychological and psychoanalytic theories of crime.
