Discuss the difference between an official and an unofficial compilation of statutes (code).

What will be an ideal response?

An “official” code or reporter is sanctioned by a particular court or by the
government (e.g., U.S. Code) as its official source of information. An “unofficial” code or
reporter is a commercially published reporter. Most often researchers will perform their
research in unofficial reporters because they contain extra materials that direct them to case
annotations, law review articles, and so on that may assist in understanding a point of law.
