Aristotle demonstrated ethos with others in the community based on (1) good sense, which is the speaker's knowledge and experience. (2) Goodwill is demonstrated by the sense of concern that the speaker has for him/her self as well as the needs of the audience. (3) Good morals are demonstrated through the speaker's ability to share the beliefs, visions, fears, and hopes of the audience.
