Explain the process of when deception in research is sometimes necessary.
What will be an ideal response?
ANS: Some studies cannot be completed with the participants having prior knowledge of the study. If that is the case, the researcher must provide proof to the IRB that the benefit of the study outweighs any harm that could come from deception. If deception is necessary, participants should be debriefed after the study.
